A Fair Balance in SPR Publications [Posted: November 29, 2005] |
To Professor John Poynton: President of the Society for Psychical ResearchJohn, I have been thinking very carefully about the points you have been making about the SPR, that members are made up of people with different opinions: that the SPR does not have a corporate opinion. However, you do stress that the editors of your publications will always have the final say about what becomes public knowledge. This gives incredible power to those SPR members who end up as editors, especially as there are two schools of scientific thought about what so-called psychic phenomena is. Those who follow the path taken by Crookes and Lodge that we all survive the death of our physical bodies: that the study of survival must be approached via the scientific discipline of subatomic physics, the study of forces that are beyond our five physical senses - a separate mind and brain, and those who are adamantly opposed to Crookes and Lodge who have taken the orthodox scientific path that the mind and brain are the same, that death is the end of everything. Surely in a situation as divided as this, rules should be made that all editors must be duty bound to always balance these two conflicting opinions, especially as I have proved to you that scientists within The Royal Society are relying on their colleagues within the SPR to keep a sharp look out for any important discoveries in what Sir Oliver Lodge called "Psychic Science"? Having editors who are all-powerful makes the SPR vulnerable to what Angus Huck calls infiltration from "fifth columnists" who are determined to keep the religious and scientific status quo intact - the priests' monopoly on the lucrative life after death industry and orthodox scientific teaching across every discipline blindly following Einstein and Hawking down the road to oblivion. This infiltration of the SPR by obscurants who are out to block the supporters of Crookes and Lodge is personified by dualists like Dr. John Beloff, who was Editor of the SPR Journal for nearly 20 years, and his protegé, Professor Robert Morris, who held the Arthur Koestler chair at Edinburgh University. I wrote to the American psychologist Morris in 1985 pointing out that his students' reading list was a joke and that he has gone against everything his benefactor Arthur Koestler stood for - linking survival with physics not psychology, especially "parapsychology". Dr. John Beloff in a letter to me dated 12 July 1983 called me "plum crazy" for following Crookes and Lodge, that "post-mortem entities" might consist of finer subatomic particles than those that make up our physical universe. This is the monist approach that the mind and brain are as one all the time the physical body is functioning. The separation only takes place when the physical body packs in, but most of all, that the source of all energy is coming from the invisible part of the universe and not the Vatican's, the religionists, big bang at a single point in time which is also the great sacred cow of scientific teaching across the world. It's taken all this time, from the death of Sir Oliver Lodge in 1940, for the dualists, who are fighting to keep religion separate from scientific endeavour, to be pushed aside and for the monists' case to be published in the SPR magazine The Paranormal Review. This is thanks solely to the Editor Dr. Nicola Holt doing the correct thing and allowing a balance. However, the secular scientific case for survival after death is still being officially censored from the SPR Journal as I write this - Ronald Pearson's scientific paper "Survival Physics" backing the revolutionary experiments that were carried out by Sir William Crookes with a materialisation medium in 1874. This is when he discovered people, who once lived on Earth, but who were still very much alive and now living in a universe that is normally out of range of our five physical senses. This is a crazy situation because Ronald Pearson's papers have been peer-refereed by physicists and published across the world, in Russia, the USA and now India "A Paradigm-Shifting Physics Supports Immortality". Because the scientific case for survival is a big threat to the priests and their powerful materialistic allies, this scientific backup for mediumship has been blocked from all mainstream media and educational outlets in the UK in order to keep the old-boy network intact from the wrath of public opinion.
As we are making a study of forces that are out of range of our five physical senses, we have to work with a machine that will bring into focus what we cannot normally see and sense.
There is nothing supernatural or paranormal about a microscope. It is a medium, a go-between, proving that just because we cannot see or sense something it does not mean that it does not exist. It is the same with radio and television sets. It is no good climbing on our roofs and trying to see the invisible forces hitting our aerials. We have to work with a machine, a medium, that can do the job.
In order to make contact with people in the invisible part of the universe we have to work with a very sophisticated machine indeed. Something far more complicated and advanced than anything invented by human beings - the human mind and brain. This is why we have to work with a materialisation medium in order to prove that we all possess a soul that separates from the dead physical body.
The expert in thermodynamics Ronald Pearson has the mathematical theory to support such exciting and revolutionary experiments. It is no surprise that his scientific discoveries are being censored in the UK, but thankfully not in Russia and the USA. Let's now knock the Vatican's Big Bang Theory for six. In the current climate of terrorism and religious squabbling, I would like to make the following information available to the readers of your newspaper. This information is not to persuade, convert nor preach to anyone. It is just to be made available to those who are interested and to be rejected by those who wish to retain their differing views on life and death.
For over 100 years we have had the experimental scientific proof that we all survive the death of our physical bodies, and that the living mind separates from the dead brain. Sir William Crookes, later to be awarded the Order of Merit and to hold the office of President of The Royal Society, carried out repeatable experiments under laboratory conditions. His results were published in The Quarterly Journal of Science in 1874. These experiments proving survival were subsequently repeated by international teams of scientists. One of the main reasons why this revolutionary discovery in physics failed to have the impact that it should have done is that these experiments lacked the mathematical theory to back up what was being observed.
Thanks to recent exciting discoveries in subatomic physics, the study of the invisible part of the universe, and the published work of UK Scientist, Ronald Pearson, we now have the missing mathematical theory that matches the pioneering experiments.
