The subject of survival after death has been hijacked by religionistsTo John Turner for distribution among Spiritualists: John, For about 20 years I have been lecturing to Spiritualists from Scotland to Cornwall and having pro Arthur Findlay articles published in Spiritualists papers for about 15 years. I have always had 100% support from ordinary members of the Spiritualist movement. However, this is not the case with the Spiritualist hierarchy. Even though they know I am a great champion of mediumship they have fought against me with all their might. For no other reason than I am a dedicated follower of Arthur Findlay's secular scientific approach to the study of survival after death. In 1983 I witnessed the revolutionary mediumship of Rita Goold - six recently deceased people fully materialising and walking around the room every time Rita gave a free demonstration. Tony Ortzen, the then Editor of Psychic News, banned my Rita Goold reports. They were not published in PN until he left in 1992! This opened my eyes to exactly what I was up against regarding the Spiritualist hierarchy. Just before Gordon Higginson died, a Spiritualist who liked my Arthur Findlay aproach to survival, kindly invited me to The Arthur Findlay College. A great thrill to me, my mother named me after Arthur Findlay in 1938 when she read 'On The Edge Of The Etheric'. Higginson and his sidekick, Glyn Edwards, turned out to get me. Just before my lecture, Higginson and Edwards, from the platform, let my audience know exactly what they thought of me. Higginson said, "Ever since Michael Roll has been writing this scientific rubbish in Psychic News I refuse to read it." Edwards then tore into Rita Goold, the greatest materialisation medium ever. Thankfully Gwen Byrne, the mother of Russell, who has been physically reunited with her "dead" son on scores of occasions, was sitting in the front row. Working together, Gwen and I saw off this former Roman Catholic monk. When it was my turn to speak I defended myself from the vicious attack by Higginson by pointing out to the President of the Spiritualists National Union that I noticed the board on the entrance to The Arthur Findlay College. It said, "This College is dedicated to scientific advancement", or very similar words as I remember. Just this, nothing else. When I left, this notice was removed. I understand it has now been replaced but without the word "science"! How on Earth these so-called Spiritualists, who are working out of The Arthur Findlay College, are going to face Arthur Findlay is completely beyond my comprehension. Arthur Findlay materialised at the Rita Goold experiment and gave me a bear hug, confirming that he is working with me all the time. I know it was Findlay and not an impostor because he materialised with my father who would never deceive me. My long fight to present the work of Arthur Findlay within the Spiritualist movement has had the opposite effect to the one I was hoping for. Instead of bringing all the Spiritualists over to Findlay's secular scientific approach to the study of survival after death it has caused an exodus. The thousands of people who have bothered to read Findlay's books have immediately left the movement. There is no way they could possibly take part in a religious service, the very idea is absurd. Every single supporter of Arthur Findlay has been excommunicated. As things stand at the moment the Spiritualist movement can only attract a handful of refugees from Christianity who are still dabbling in religion. The greatest curse to ever hit this planet. As Findlay makes very clear in his masterpiece 'The Curse of Ignorance' that was published in 1947. This is the true history of mankind, totally different to the pack of lies that have been fed to British children, a country where the Church and the state are still established. The Rise and Fall of the Spiritualist Movement - an article by Michael Roll The Curse of Ignorance by Arthur Findlay (1947), published in two volumes, and details of some of Findlay's other works. This is the true history of mankind, totally different to the pack of lies taught in a country where the Church and state are established. This passage sums up just how badly the British people have been deceived: "Such, however, is still [the Church's] influence that this book, which tells the story of the past honestly and fearlessly, will be kept out of our schools and universities by the authorities, and consequently, only in later life will those with enquiring minds discover the truth."
Findlay finishes with a call to the people of the world to throw off the shackles of priestcraft, to make a choice between two paths: "One is the Secular way (non religious) and the other is the Theological (religious); one is the Democratic and the other the Despotic; one is the sane and the other the insane."
A First-Hand Account of Materialisation Mediumship - Michael Roll describes an experiment he attended with the materialisation medium Rita Goold. This account was written in 1983, but was not accepted for publication until 1992. Alan Cleaver's report: In 1982, Alan Cleaver carried out a revolutionary scientific exercise that completely vindicated the pioneering experiments of Sir William Crookes and the Nobel Laureate Professor Charles Richet when they proved survival after death through repeatable experiments under laboratory conditions. "Russell" - Gwen Byrne's account of being reunited with her "dead" son (1994)
