Dear Sir, Now that a Muslim cleric has been found guilty of using passages from the Koran as incitement to murder, it's imperative that the Archbishop of Canterbury quickly makes a public statement that the Bible does not have divine authority. He may be just in time to stop George W. Bush and Tony Blair using their "holy" book as a moral excuse to go to war in the Middle East - Armageddon, the supreme conflict of nations. Even from a cursory glance at the Bible it's obvious to every half-intelligent person that it's no more the word of God than any other book that has ever been published: "I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron, thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel." (Psalm 2; 8-9)
As a heathen, a person who is not a Christian, Muslim or a Jew, I not only find this teaching deeply offensive, it's very dangerous. Yours faithfully Michael Roll Related material on this site: |
