Barry Duke is editor of The Freethinker: www.freethinker.co.uk
Dear Barry,
I would like to apolgise to Norman Pridmore if I have given the impression that my fellow atheists are part of the conspiracy to block the secular scientific case for survival after the death of our physical bodies.
However, what I am saying loud and clear is that most of the readers of The Freethinker have fallen for the highly efficient religious propaganda machine that the subject of survival after death is a matter of faith. But worst of all, having to believe in outrageous supernatural doctrines and dogmas invented by priests in the Dark Age of Ignorance when men thought a red hot ball of fire went round a flat Earth every day.
As the former Bishop of Durham, Dr. David Jenkins has made very clear, no professional priest has believed in what they have been selling for over 100 years. However, they do use their victims as shock troops when it comes to keeping the truth from the people and the money flowing into their coffers. All professionals know they must keep their monopoly on the lucrative life after death industry or they are finished.
For example, no religious publication in the world would dare to do what The Freethinker has done - just point to the atheist's case for a separate mind and brain. Censorship is the only weapon against uncomfortable discoveries in physics now that the priests can no longer rub out the opposition and get away with it.
Yours sincerely
Michael Roll
