This letter was written in response to Prof. David Fontana's letter in the December 2001 issue of Psychic World.

Dear Ray,

Psychologists and parapsychologists get very upset when people like me follow Sir Oliver Lodge and link survival after death with the scientific discipline of subatomic physics. They feel that their authority is threatened. This problem can be solved if psychologists start to use their word as the Greeks intended, psyche=soul, a separate mind and brain. Sadly this can't happen all the time orthodox scientific thinking is locked into the mind and brain being the same, that death is the end of everything. The psychologists would incur the wrath of the powerful physicists and mathematicians.

Professor Fontana is wrong when he states that Dr. Beloff was not giving his own views about linking survival with subatomic physics:

"Many parapsychologists believe (mistakenly in my view) that paranormal phenomena are all potentially explicable in terms of some principle of physics that has yet to be clarified - usually some of the more paradoxical implications of modern quantum theory are invoked to provide an answer".

Will Prof. Fontana and those who control the SPR now prove they do not have a "corporate opinion" of censoring papers that follow Sir Oliver Lodge - link the subject of survival with subatomic physics. Please start by publishing Sir Oliver Lodge's article that was published in The Queen's Hospital Annual in 1933 'The Mode of Future Existence'. This makes it clear survival is a branch of physics, not parapsychology.

Please also publish my paper where I tell of repeatable experiments where mothers have been physically reunited with their "dead" children. It's now vital that the SPR publish Ronald Pearson's mathematical back up for mediumship that has been peer-refereed and published by physicists in Russia and the USA.
